Dammy is someone you can describe as sister from another mother. I met her back in 2005 through her sisters, Taiwo & Kenny, who are my friends. We attended the same church (Royal House of Grace – Enthronement Assembly) back in school and also in Lagos. She is an entrepreneur par excellence. She is the CEO of Royal Laundry Services (a business she has been running since her undergrad days) and Royal Farms. Just like her sisters, she has a large heart and very down to earth. Trust me, Dammy can sometimes be a drama queen.

His ‘gospel’ however isn’t on the ‘sacred pulpit’ but every nook and cranny for all who are willing to listen and learn a thing or two. We go way back say 2006/2007 – jeez, all these OLD friends of mine – from university and church where he gave me a name tag of 1 of the most successful naija hip-hop stars (inside church, guy you no like me oh). We also worked in same organisation for around 2 years where I leant a whole lot from him. David when you read this, know that like Kollo, you have 12 months too!!!

She needs no introduction; Bridget is my immediate younger sister. She’s the only one of my siblings we could say we belong to the ‘same generation’. She’s currently studying for an M.Sc in Agricultural Engineering at the University of Ibadan. She is patient, reserved and ambitious. She has a ‘Can Do’ attitude towards work. We have shared lots of stuffs together – the good, the bad, the ugly. I remember our days back in primary school when she won lots of gifts as a sprinter for our school. Bridget is industrious and has a flair for making her own things – hair pomade, flip flops and clutch purses.

We have ‘lived’ the dream since university (2006) doing stuffs – music recording becoming campus ‘hits’. I remember so well how he ‘covered’ my ass 9 years ago *winks* #storyforthegods# shhhh!

#Throwback…As a freshman in the university, you had a perception of the girls to approach and the ones to dine with, ‘with a long spoon’. As coursemates I had marked her down in the latter group simply because I felt she was too ‘strong-faced’ for a lady. 2nd year arrives and providence lands us in the same team while planning for the end of the year (2005) get together for the NGO-club we both belonged to – LIVA youth forum. All the while as coursemates and club members we never spoke to each other. But while planning for the event, her intelligence struck me at once and I began to change my previous perception. The party was tight and we had a couple of dance – infact she happened to be the only one I danced with all night. We exchanged numbers, became friends, study partners, and very good friends all within a year and three months after which we started dating.

The rest, as they say, is history! They say you rarely meet ‘wife material’ at a party….. Well, I am an exception to that notion and in May, I have found the ONE that complements and completes me!

Our 1 year stay together through all the ‘explorations’ of Anambra and environs remain etched in my memory forever.

Dee and I were classmates and members of the same club (LIVA Youth Forum) back in the university but I never noticed him until during the planning of the end-of-year get together in 2005. At the party, we danced together all night. In fact, I refused to dance with any other guy. What endeared me to him was that he didn't dance roughly like most guys did. During the Xmas holidays, we contacted each other and became friends. By January 2006 after the holidays, we became study partners (a course that readily comes to mind is the almighty EEE 231). Fifteen months after our first dance, we started dating. Fast forward…May 9, 2015…We are getting married!

A lot of times in life, you get the good things when you ain’t even looking for one. Dee is such an amazing person; he debunked whatsoever rumours and became my friend...with no 'hidden intentions' like most guys will do. Really, it’s not about a lady being ‘strict’ or ‘principled’ or 'choleric' or 'strong-faced' or whatever it’s called. It’s about the guy being brave, seeing what others cannot see, and smart enough to dare all odds. And I've got me a really smart, brave, smashing dude for a husband

Incidentally, Tomi and I also worked on the Information Systems team at RHG - Enthronement Assembly, Lagos. On the team, she has a nice attitude to work and she's a great help. Sweet of her, Tomi agreed to be on the wedding party at a very short notice.

MATRON OF HONOR

Dayo and I were posted to the same PPA in Ingawa LGA of Katsina State for our National Youth Service in 2010. We just had this instant connection – we were the only female corps members (batch B) posted to Government Technical College; we studied Computer Science, we spoke Yoruba, we were to teach Computer Studies. Ingawa being a very boring mini-town by default, we created fun our own way – cooking, baking, movies, reading, sleeping, gisting, singing, even planned vacation trips to Katsina town. And we had our moments of tears too. After our NYSC, we were still in touch and didn’t allow the distance (Ib – PH) to deter our friendship. Dayo is a fun person to be with; it’s never a dull moment with her.
